
The University of Basrah and Ferdowsi University Hold a Joint Lecture on Hydatid Cysts

The College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Basrah participated in an online lecture with the College of Veterinary Medicine at Ferdowsi University in the Islamic Republic of Iran. The lecture, titled "Hydatid Disease in Basrah Governorate: Epidemiology and Prevalence," was held as part of the scientific cooperation agreement between the two universities.
The lecture aimed to shed light on hydatid disease as a zoonotic infection affecting both humans and ruminant animals.
Presented by Dr. Suzan Abdul Jabbar and Dr. Muhannad Faris, the lecture covered an introduction to hydatid disease, its prevalence in Iraq in general and Basrah in particular and provided researchers and interested parties with insights into key studies, recent findings on the disease’s prevalence, control measures, and effective treatment methods.
