Master's thesis at the University of Basrah examines the detection of antimicrobial resistance.
The announcement of Veterinary Medicine College
A master's thesis at the College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Basrah entitled “The molecular detection of antimicrobial resistance using genetic integrations related to Escherichia coli, which isolated from clinical and environmental sources in Basrah province.
The thesis was presented by Hussein Alaa Abdul Khaliq and aimed in his study to determine the type of genetic integrations in E. coli that resistant to a number of antibiotics. The samples included in this study were obtained from human, animal, and environment.
The thesis included the isolation of E. coli samples and identify its resistant to three antibiotics and the integrations (1,2,3) in these isolates. The association between genetic integrations and resistance to antibiotics are accordingly highlighted.
