The master's thesis conducted at the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Basra focused on diagnosing the parasite Isospora spp. using various detection methods.

The study, carried out by student Intizar Kani Jasim, aimed to isolate and diagnose the parasite and study its shape and internal structures.

The study concluded that there are two types of parasites that infect cats and one type that infects dogs. The type that infects cats was previously diagnosed in pigs, and this result was recorded for the first time in Basra Governorate.
