The College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Basrah organized a workshop on the role of fish as healthy food.
The workshop aimed to explain healthy food and the importance of fish as a distinctive source of protein, which containing essential amino acids and fats.
A specialised lecturers from the college gave the workshop, for explanation of the most important elements of fish, including proteins and fats, particularly omega-3, an essential fat that the body cannot synthesize and must be gained from consuming fishes. The fishes remain healthy food and suitable are for all ages, according to the workshop. It also highlighted the risk that may inflict the body when a person does not get adequate quantity of these fats.
