The College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Basrah organised a workshop on how to control stray dogs in the Basrah governorate.
The workshop aimed to clarify methods of dealing with stray dogs that can cause serious health problems for humans if they are not contained.
The workshop, which was presented by several faculty members of the college, included the necessary steps to limit the spread of stray dogs and their impact on human health. It also highlighted the role of Veterinarians in saving lives and emphasised the importance of cooperating with animal welfare organizations to find alternatives to culling. These alternatives include collecting the dogs from the province, vaccinating them, and keeping them in designated shelters away from residential areas.
