Basrah University organized workshop on Raising Free-Range Chicken

The College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Basrah organized a scientific workshop on free-range chicken raising.

The workshop aimed to demonstrate the potential of utilizing green pastures in free-range chicken farming to produce organic meat and eggs compared to industrial production, thereby limiting the spread of immune diseases resulting from an intensive farming system.

The workshop, which held by lecturers interesting in public health, discussed the requirements and challenges facing free-range chicken farming, which contributes to sustainability in agricultural lands through utilizing their droppings of these birds to fertilize soil with organic fertilizer.
