University of Basrah Hosts Workshop on Sustainable Development

The College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Basrah held an educational workshop focused on the concept and objectives of sustainable development.

The event aimed to raise awareness about sustainable development, its key themes, and the seventeen goals set by the United Nations to be achieved by 2030.

Led by members of the college’s Sustainable Development Committee, the workshop covered essential requirements, including environmental and social considerations, the adoption of clean and alternative energy sources, and the reduction of pollution. It also emphasized the importance of expanding green spaces and enhancing awareness among faculty and students about environmental protection, social responsibility, gender equality, and strategies to reduce poverty.
