A Scientific Study at the University of Basrah Investigates the Production of Nanoparticles
A scientific study conducted at the University of Basrah by a research team consisting of Dr. Basel Abdul Zahra Abbas, Dr. Adel Jabar Hussein from the College of Veterinary Medicine, and Dr. Hussein Nasser Al-Salman from the College of Pharmacy, investigated the production of nanoparticles supported by plant extracts for use in medical treatment.
The study, which was published in Scientific Reports—ranked in the Clarivate Q1 category with a site score of 7.6 and an impact factor of 3.9—explored the effectiveness of these materials against cancer cells and bacterial infections.
The study concluded that these nanoparticles were effective and successful as antioxidants and antimicrobial agents, in addition to being effective against cancer cells.
