University of Basrah Organizes “You Are Stronger” Festival to Raise Awareness of Breast Cancer

The College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Basrah organized a cultural and awareness festival titled “You Are Stronger”, in observance of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The event aimed to promote health awareness and encourage women to undergo early screening to prevent breast cancer and avoid its complications.

In his speech, Dean Dr. Jalal Yaseen Mustafa stated that October is recognized worldwide as Breast Cancer Awareness Month, emphasizing the importance of organizing such activities that contribute to enhancing health education and community awareness.

The festival included educational sessions and presentations of real-life stories of women who bravely and determinedly overcame the disease, adding an inspiring and emotional atmosphere to the event.
