University of Basrah Holds Seminar on Household Waste Recycling
The College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Basrah organized a seminar titled “Mechanisms of Household Waste Recycling.”
The event aimed to enhance awareness and educate participants on proper waste sorting and the principles of recycling, emphasizing its importance in reducing pollution and safeguarding the environment.
During the seminar, Professor Dr. Suzan Abdul-Jabbar Abdul-Aziz delivered a lecture that highlighted the need to promote a community-wide culture of recycling and discussed the government’s role in supporting this concept.
The seminar concluded with several recommendations, including the importance of collective community efforts, adopting safe packaging alternatives, and choosing materials that are easy to recycle. It also stressed the need to sort household waste by category, separate food leftovers, and convert them into organic fertilizer to support plant growth.
