University of Basrah Organizes a Field Visit to Al-Afandi Equestrian Academy

The College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Basrah organized a field training visit for newly graduated veterinarians to Al-Afandi Equestrian Academy.

The visit aimed to enhance the graduates’ practical skills, develop their abilities in fieldwork, and improve their competence in horse care and preliminary diagnosis, thereby preparing them to enter the job market with efficiency and confidence.

The visit, supervised by Assistant Lecturer Sarah Salem, included a field tour of the academy’s facilities and an overview of professional horse-handling practices. It also featured a detailed explanation of clinical examination methods, nutrition, and horse health management, in addition to hands-on applications overseen by a specialist from the academy.
