University of Basrah Organizes a Seminar on Antibiotic Awareness

The College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Basrah, in cooperation with Basrah Health Directorate, organized a supplementary seminar for World Antibiotic Awareness Week titled “Bacteria and the Resistance to Antibiotics.”

The seminar aimed to raise awareness about the optimal use of antibiotics and to reduce the risks resulting from their misuse in both human and veterinary fields.

The seminar, presented by faculty members Dr. Jala A S Alahmed and Dr. Alaa Ismail, alongside with a pharmacist from Basrah health directorate Doaa Raed Faleh, covered scientific topics on the dangers of bacterial resistance to antibiotics and possible solutions to control its spread.

The seminar recommended the need to rise community awareness to understand the importance of identifying antibiotics risks and using them wisely.
