University of Basrah Organized Awareness Festival Concerning Women 
The College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Basrah organized a student festival of awareness under the slogan "No to Violence - Respect is the Beginning of Peace."
The festival aimed to limiting the violence against women, raise community awareness of the risk of violence in all its types, as well as support women's rights in defense and justice.
The festival's activities included a lecture on domestic violence following the newest societal changes and its effects on community. The students and faculty eagerly participated through  designing posters and displaying portrays about the violence against women.
During the festival, the College of Law, University of Basrah donated several awareness books on violence against women and enriched the library with cultural books to educate readers about violence and its consequences upon individuals or families in particular, public in general.
