The University of Basrah has implemented a practical veterinary surgical procedure as part of the training program for graduating students.
Faculty members of the College of Veterinary Medicine, in collaboration with the Veterinary Teaching Hospital, carried out a surgical operation on a goat suffering from an advanced abscess in the udder region. The specialized medical team performed comprehensive clinical and laboratory examinations to accurately diagnose the condition and determine an appropriate surgical treatment plan.
This case served as an important educational experience for graduating students, who actively participated in the diagnostic process and surgical procedure under the direct supervision of their professors.
The initiative reflects the college’s commitment to strengthening practical education and providing students with hands-on clinical experience, thereby enhancing their readiness and professional competence in managing a wide range of surgical and clinical cases they may encounter in their future careers.
