University of Basrah Organizes a Seminar on Promoting Peaceful Coexistence

The College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Basrah organized a seminar entitled “The Culture of Citizenship and the Concept of Minorities for the Sake of Peaceful Coexistence.”

The seminar aimed to enhance academic and student awareness of the importance of peaceful coexistence by introducing attendees to the legal and social identity of minorities as an essential part of the nation’s social integration .

The event featured a lecture delivered by a distinguished group of faculty members, including a detailed presentation that focused on distinguishing between the concepts of citizenship and minorities, and clarifying the demographic and legal landscape of the various societal components.

The seminar concluded by emphasizing that diversity among societal groups is a source of strength and stability for the country. Participants also stressed the importance of harnessing the potential of all segments of society to achieve sustainable development goals, affirming that the beauty of the homeland lies in the diversity of its communities and the solidarity of its people.
