The University of Basrah Hosts Workshop on Academic Promotion Regulations
The College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Basrah held a workshop titled “Overview of Academic Promotion Instructions No. (10) of 2025.”
The event aimed to introduce participants to the updated academic promotion guidelines and clarify the procedures for their implementation in line with the requirements set by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
The workshop featured a lecture delivered by Dr. Basil Abdul Zahra and Dr. Imad Fadhil Rakab from the College of Law. The speakers presented a comprehensive explanation of the new promotion instructions, including research evaluation methods, criteria for calculating academic scores, and the responsibilities of scientific committees in reviewing promotion applications.
The workshop concluded with several recommendations, including the importance of carefully reviewing the updated instructions prior to applying for promotion, encouraging publication in well-recognized journals, and highlighting the need for continuous training workshops to enhance researchers’ skills.
