University of Basrah Holds Seminar on Veterinary Care for Domestic Animals

The College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Basrah held a scientific seminar entitled “Animal Sterilization: Procedures, Advantages, and Disadvantages.”

The seminar aimed to enhance the academic knowledge of faculty members in the department of surgery and obstetrics, as well as to elevate the scientific level of the college’s students and staff.

The seminar addressed key topics related to animal sterilization, including the surgical techniques employed, in addition to reviewing the main benefits and potential complications of these procedures, with a focus on their importance in animal health management and population control.

The seminar recommended the necessity of sterilizing domestic animals due to its benefits for their health and development. It also contributes to improved behavior, including increased calmness and a reduced likelihood of escape or leaving the home.
