The University of Basrah Hosts Workshop on the Right to Clean Water
The College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Basrah held a workshop entitled “The Right to Clean Water: A Global Challenge Between Development and Human Rights.”
The workshop sought to emphasize the significance of access to clean water as a basic human right, its connection to sustainable development, and the major challenges hindering its availability worldwide.
Delivered by Dr. Raghad Abdul-Imam Fayez, the session provided an in-depth overview of the concept of the right to clean water, its vital role in human life, and an assessment of global water scarcity issues.
The workshop concluded with recommendations stressing the importance of incorporating the right to clean water into national constitutions and legal frameworks, as well as ensuring the protection of water resources from pollution and unsustainable use.
