University of Basrah Enhances Students’ Skills through Free Field Medical Practice
The College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Basrah organized a free field medical practice in cooperation with a group of veterinarians and agricultural specialists affiliated with Harakat Sadiqoon, as well as the Veterinary Syndicate in Basrah Governorate.
The activity included clinical examination of animals, diagnosis of disease conditions, and provision of necessary treatments. It also covered the control of internal and external parasites, including ticks, which act as vectors for hemorrhagic fever. In addition, pregnancy diagnosis in farm animals was performed using ultrasound.
This initiative comes within the framework of strengthening joint cooperation, developing students’ scientific and practical skills, and linking theoretical knowledge with real-world application through a series of extracurricular activities aimed at preparing a generation of veterinarians well-versed in all aspects of field practice and management.
