14th annual student conference

The College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Basrah organized its 14th annual student conference, focusing on the presentation and discussion of graduation research projects by fifth-year students.

A total of 54 scientific papers were presented during the conference, spanning a range of specializations. These were evaluated by two specialized committees: one dedicated to basic research, which reviewed 31 papers, and another focused on clinical research, which assessed 23 papers.

The Dean of the College, Dr. Jalal Yassin, commended the high standard of the research presented, highlighting the students’ commitment and diligence in producing valuable scientific work. He also expressed pride in the academic achievements of the college’s graduates.

At the end of the conference, the top-performing students were announced. Noor Al-Huda Najeh Mahdi secured first place under the supervision of Dr. Basim Khashjouri, followed by Mohammed Rajwan in second place under the supervision of Dr. Zainab Wahid. Noor Al-Hussein Haider achieved third place under the supervision of Dr. Ammar Maatouq, while Asawer Majeed Suwai ranked fourth under the supervision of Dr. Alaa Abdul-Khaliq.
