A Research Team from the University of Basrah Publishes a Scientific Paper in a Scopus-Indexed Journal

A research team involving academics from the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Basrah, in collaboration with a researcher from the Kirkuk Health Department and another from the Basra Veterinary Hospital, has published a scientific article in the Slovak journal Helminthologia, a Scopus-indexed journal.

Dr. Suzan Abdul-Jabbar, a member of the research team, explained that the journal specializes in the field of parasitology and is issued by the Academic Institute of Parasitology in Slovakia. The journal is ranked in the third quartile (Q3) within the Scopus database, with a CiteScore of 1.8, and is published by the Slovak-German publishing group De Gruyter Brill.

The research team highlighted the importance of this study, which provides a promising approach for the early diagnosis of hydatid cyst infection in intermediate hosts through the detection of cell-free DNA in blood plasma.
