University of Basrah Organizes Training Course on the Fundamentals of Microbiology

The College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Basrah organized a training course on the fundamentals of microbiology, covering procedures ranging from sample collection and culture media preparation to bacterial cultivation.

The course aimed to train postgraduate students in the basic techniques used in microbiology laboratories.

The course included theoretical and practical lectures delivered by professors from the Department of Microbiology. The students received hands-on training in collecting different types of samples, preparing culture media, and applying bacterial culture techniques for pure isolation and subsequent identification.

The course recommended organizing similar training courses periodically for postgraduate students, given their importance in preparing students to work properly and efficiently in the laboratory, thereby enabling them to obtain more reliable results with less effort and in a shorter period of time.
