University of Basrah Examines the Impact of Propolis Gel on Hard Palate Wound Healing

A doctoral thesis at College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Basrah investigated the impact of propolis gel on expedite hard palate wound healing in rabbits by monitoring histological and immunohistochemical changes through different stages of the healing process.
The study, presented by a researcher “Aseel Kamil Hamid”, aimed to evaluate the therapeutic role of propolis gel and its efficacy in expedite the hard palate wound healing and improving wound-related histological changes.
The research involved an experiment on 48 rabbits, allocated into control and propolis-treated groups. Changes were monitored at intervals of 3, 7, 14, and 21 days, alongside histological and immunohistochemical analyses to assess the stages of wound healing.
The study concluded that the use of propolis gel contributes to accelerate the hard palate wound healing and improving histological changes via the healing process, with unequivocal therapeutic effects were seen over period of the study.
