Publication of a Book Chapter by a Faculty member  from the University of Basrah on Toxoplasmosis
Dr. Suzan Abdul Jabbar, a faculty member at the College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Basrah, has published a scientific book chapter titled:
"Molecular Biology and Immune Regulation of Chronic Toxoplasma gondii Infection"
as part of an international scientific collaboration with researchers from Pakistan and China.

The chapter was published in a prestigious scientific book entitled:
"Protozoan Zoonoses: Advances in the Diagnosis, Prevention, and Treatment of Cryptosporidiosis and Toxoplasmosis",
issued by the renowned publisher Unique Scientific Publishers.
The chapter provides a comprehensive overview of the protozoan parasite Toxoplasma gondii (the causative agent of toxoplasmosis), with a focus on molecular and immunological diagnostic methods, in addition to reviewing the globally recorded genotypes of this parasite. It also sheds light on the molecular mechanisms of chronic infection and immune regulation.
This scientific achievement represents a valuable contribution to the field of medical and veterinary parasitology, and highlights the active international presence of the University of Basrah through rigorous academic research and collaborations.
The book includes thirteen scientific chapters authored by a group of distinguished researchers from various countries, focusing on Cryptosporidium and Toxoplasma, and covering key aspects of diagnosis.
