Practical Skills through Joint Field Training between the Colleges of Veterinary Medicine and Agriculture

University of Basrah Strengthens Students’ Practical Skills through Joint Field Training between the Colleges of Veterinary Medicine and Agriculture

The College of Veterinary Medicine organized a specialized educational field training program for second-year students at the animal farms of the College of Agriculture.

The initiative aims to enhance students’ practical competencies and bridge the gap between academic curricula and real-world application through a range of extracurricular activities. It seeks to prepare future veterinarians with comprehensive knowledge and hands-on experience in field management.

The training focused on familiarizing students with modern techniques in breeding and feeding various farm animals. This was accomplished through a series of lectures and practical sessions delivered by faculty members from the College of Agriculture.

The program also aimed to move beyond purely theoretical instruction by immersing students in a real working environment, thereby improving their understanding of the practical challenges facing the livestock sector in Iraq.
