A master's thesis in the College of Veterinary Medicine discussed (a comparative study of the types of Eimeria parasite in small ruminants, sheep and goats).

The letter to the researcher Hana Abdul-Hussein Shahid included collecting stool samples from sheep, goats and from the ground. The results depended on the shape, composition and sizes of isolated and diagnosed sporozoites under the microscope, which showed eleven types of sheep feces and six types of goat feces, and the highest prevalence of infection in sheep and land in the area Zubair with high prevalence in goats.

The thesis aimed to compare the types of Eimeria parasite that infect sheep and goats within the city of Basra.

The thesis concluded that small ruminants can be infected with different types of parasite at the same time, and the seasons of the year affect the rates of infection with Eimeria species.

The thesis recommended studying the types of Eimeria parasite in large ruminants to complete the epidemiological map throughout Iraq and adopting the results of the molecular examination.
