
University of Basrah Holds Its Annual Exhibition Celebrating the 61st Anniversary of Its Founding

The College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Basrah held its annual exhibition of scientific achievements by faculty and students in celebration of the university’s 61st anniversary.
The exhibition aimed to highlight the culmination of joint efforts by the college's advanced staff, who presented their scientific and academic insights and expertise.
The exhibition featured patents, scientific research, awards, and certificates obtained by faculty members. It also included displays of animal specimens preserved using both traditional taxidermy techniques and the plastination technique, as well as products and scientific activities from various departments. Additionally, the exhibition showcased the latest equipment used in laboratories.
The event also included entertainment segments, a bazaar for handmade crafts, various houseplants and fruit-bearing plants, food stalls, and art pieces painted by the students. During the ceremony, prizes were awarded to students who excelled in various sports activities, and an outstanding department was selected. For this year, the Department of Physiology, Pharmacology, and Biochemistry was awarded the Shield of Excellence and Creativity for its contributions to the exhibition.
At the conclusion of the event, the profits from the exhibition were donated to children battling cancer.
