The College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Basrah organized a scientific field visit to several livestock farms specializing in raising cattle, calves, and buffalo in the Abu Al-Khasib district, as part of the college's practical training activities aimed at enhancing students’ hands-on experience.
The visit included participation from several faculty members, along with undergraduate fourth-year students and postgraduate (PhD) students. During the visit, the team conducted clinical examinations, diagnosed animal diseases, and provided the necessary veterinary treatments.
Additionally, the visiting team offered guidance and preventive recommendations to farm owners and livestock breeders, with the goal of improving disease prevention methods and reducing the spread of common animal illnesses.
This visit is part of a series of scientific and practical initiatives undertaken by the college, reflecting its continuous efforts to elevate the academic and practical standards of its students, while also supporting the livestock sector in the province—contributing to food security and serving the public interest.
