University of Basrah Organizes a Workshop on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities
The College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Basrah organized a workshop entitled “The Rights of Persons with Disabilities and Special Needs.”
The workshop aimed to raise students’ social awareness, promote the proper inclusion of persons with disabilities in society, protect them from bullying and discrimination, and emphasize the importance of supporting them in overcoming challenges.
The workshop included a lecture delivered by Dr. Bushra Flaih Hassan, in which she discussed the concept of disability, its types and causes, as well as reviewing national and international laws and legislations that guarantee this group the right to a dignified life.
The workshop recommended intensifying awareness-raising activities to support persons with disabilities, empower them to lead fulfilling lives, and promote their full integration into society.
