The College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Basra organized a workshop on (feed evaluation and analysis of experiments) for the purpose of measuring the quantities of feed ingredients or nutrients available in the feed and thus giving the animals sufficient feed to meet the animal’s requirements and needs and the selection of cost-effective feeds.

The workshop aimed to determine the composition of the nutrients for feed, in order to know the digestibility of feed materials in animals.

The workshop, which was attended by Dr. Kifah Atheeb and Professor Nazem Muhammad, included an explanation of the use of the most important chemical and modern methods using a high-quality feeding microscope and proportional quantitative measurement with a microscope, as well as using the NIRS device, near-infrared reflection spectrum analysis.

The workshop recommended conducting more strategic and applied research to further develop the feed and apply the evaluation of different feeds and laboratory techniques.
