Master's thesis at the University of Basrah examines the effect of stevia powder on productive performance in chickens

A master's thesis at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Basrah investigated the effect of stevia leaf powder on growth performance, digestive enzymes, intestines and meat quality in broiler chickens.

The thesis submitted by student Zainab Khalil Ibrahim aimed to study the effect of stevia leaf powder on growth performance, digestive enzymes and meat quality of broiler chickens as an alternative feed additive to improve health and performance.

The thesis included the preparation of stevia leaves as a dry powder added to the feed provided to broiler chickens because it is considered one of the medicinal herbs used in preventive nutrition that benefits the health of the bird and works to increase productivity because it contains active compounds such as flavonoids that act as antioxidants that protect the bird's body against diseases by increasing immunity and the effectiveness of antioxidant enzymes in addition to improving the intestinal microflora, which is beneficial to increasing the productivity of birds.
